Ministry of Detainees: The detainees inside Ashkelon prison start a hunger strike today.

The Ministry of Detainees' Affairs stated that the prisoners of Ashkelon prison are on a hunger strike, and will return the three meals, in protest against the procrastination by the prison administration, and the lack of attention to the issue of the sick prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid.

The ministry stated that the detainee Nasser Abu Hamid is in the Ramle prison clinic and in a very dangerous health condition. He has faced since last year a long journey of medical negligence "slow killing", including a medical error he suffered after it was found that he had lung cancer.

The ministry indicated that the occupation authorities have been refusing to respond to requests for his release since the beginning of January.
