More than 120 detainees are infected with Covid-19 inside Ofer prison which is a serious indication of the deteriorating conditions there.  

The Ministry of detainees’ Affairs stated that it’s really concerned about the conditions that the detainees are living through after 120 detainee were confirmed to have Covid-19 inside Ofer prison.

The Ministry declared in a press release that prisons’ administration is still procrastinating in taking preventive measures and adequate sterilization means to protect the prisoners, in addition to the continuation of the policy of medical negligence.

Moreover, it was announced today inside Beersheba prison that the detainee Nael Al-Barghouti, who spent 42 years inside prison, is infected with the virus.

The occupation authorities are fully responsible of the safety of Palestinian detainees as the whole prisons’ environment lack health protection means. Moreover, prison cells are crowded with the lack of appropriate healthy food and the lack of medication.

More than 160 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed among Palestinian detainees in Neqev, Ofer, Remoon. And Damon prisons.
