Al-Madhoun: Female detainees are a red line that must not be crossed and the International community should bear full responsibility

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Detainees Mr. Baha Al-Din Al-Madhoun stressed that the conditions inside the occupation prisons are getting tense in light of the frenzied attack on the female detainees. He demanded the international community to assume its responsibilities and take urgent action to stop this farce against our prisoners.
This came today during a meeting held by the ministry at its headquarters, entitled “Attack on female prisoners is a crime that cannot be tolerated”, in the presence of A. Bahaa Al-Din Al-Madhoun, Undersecretary of the Ministry, Ms. Amira Haroun, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Women, and spokesperson for the Prisoners Information Office Mr. Moaz Abu Sharkh.
Al-Madhoun said that what is happening inside the occupation prisons, including harassment, torture, dragging and tearing the clothes of the female prisoners, came with a decision, a plan, and a complete political cover from the highest levels in the state. This is seen as a malicious attempt to use the detainees as a political pressure card aimed at blackmailing the Palestinian resistance.
In turn, Mr. Moaz Abu Sharkh, the media spokesperson for the Prisoners Information Office, talked about what is happening now inside the occupation prisons and the violations that the female detainees are subjected to, including cutting off electricity, beating them, and confiscating all electrical appliances. Moreover, they tend to close prison sections and take all female prisoners to the outside yard in the extreme cold.
In turn, Mr. Amira Haroun, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Women, said that female prisoners play an important role in confronting the occupation, and we cannot go beyond the flagrant and grave violations they are subjected to. She also pointed out that female prisoners in the occupation prisons are an icon of struggle and resistance, as they are subjected to violations and systematic methods.
